🌊 Exciting Opportunity: 2024 OSHY Champion Meet! 🌊

Dear Swim Club Family,

We want to share an exciting opportunity for our swimmers! The 2024 OSHY Champion Meet is coming up from November 22-24, 2024, and it promises to be a fantastic event filled with competition and learning. This is not a regular season meet. Here’s what you need to know:

Meet Location:

Oshkosh YMCA

3303 W 20th Ave

Oshkosh, WI 54904

Meet Details:

- Dates:

November 22-24, 2024

- Friday: Individual events only

- Saturday & Sunday: Multiple individual events

- Entry Limits:

- Friday: One (1) individual event

- Saturday & Sunday: Three (3) individual events per day

- Total for the meet: Seven (7) individual events plus one (1) relay

Entry Fees:

- $15.00 Facility Fee per swimmer

- $6.00 Individual Event Fee ($3.00 for 25’s)

- $16.00 Relay Fee

- $4.00 Splash Fee

Payment Information:

Families will need to pay the club for the entry fees, and we will handle the payment for the meet. Please ensure that your payments are submitted promptly. For payments and any questions, please contact our treasurer, Jody Zahl.

Signups:

Please remember that signups are due THIS SUNDAY (11/10/24), with no exceptions. The coach is planning to attend on Saturday, but if there’s a large enough group signed up for Sunday, he may consider attending as well.

Meet Highlights:

- This year's honoree is AJ Pouch, who recently finished 3rd at the 2024 Olympic Trials in the 200 breaststroke and will represent the United States at the World Short Course Championships in Budapest this December!

- The AM sessions on Saturday and Sunday will feature ages 9-12, followed by an 8 & Under session to ensure a more streamlined experience.

- Champion races will take place on Saturday, making for an exciting day of competition!

- High Point Awards will include custom-made Champion Meet kickboards for top swimmers in each age group.

Special Clinic Opportunity:

On Friday, there will be a Stroke Clinic with AJ Pouch, the 8th fastest 200 breaststroker ever! This is an amazing chance for swimmers to learn from one of the best in the sport.

NKB Dinner:

On Friday night at 6:30 PM, there will be a free dinner for swimmers and their families! This is a great opportunity to connect with fellow club members while enjoying a meal together. Open Clinic for 13 & Older:

On Sunday morning at 8:30 AM, there will be an Open Clinic at the downtown YMCA, concluding before the Open session. This is a fantastic opportunity for older swimmers to gain insights from AJ in a focused environment.
